Dublin: the ultimate guide
Geography
Ireland is divided into 2 parts: Northern Ireland, a region located in the northeast of the island, which is part of the United Kingdom, and the Republic of Ireland, all the rest of the island, which is an independent state.
Dublin is the capital of the Republic of Ireland and the largest and most populated city in all of Ireland, I think. It is located at about mid-height on the east coast.
It is crossed by the River Liffey, of great importance to the city and to Dubliners, so much so that they regard it as a person and sometimes call it the Anna Liffey.
The Liffey flows from west to east, then left to right watching the map, it flows into the Irish Sea (which lies between Ireland and Britain), and divides the city into two parts: the northern part and the southern part.
This subdivision is very important, because usually the northern part is identified as the more residential part intended for workers, while the southern part is richer and full of attractions.
