In this article, you'll find general tips about the island as well as a detailed day-by-day itinerary of what to see and do.

The island is small, but I recommend renting a car to get around more easily. We stayed in several different accommodations, spending some days in the north and others in the south, but I would suggest staying centrally, perhaps in a town like Teguise.

Nightlife is virtually nonexistent, except in Puerto del Carmen or Arrecife, but the vibe there wasn't to our liking.

We rented a car through Cicar and had a great experience. We opted for a Fiat 500, which was sufficient for most of the trip, although on certain roads—like the one leading to Playa Papagayo—we would have preferred a vehicle better suited to unpaved terrain.

We spent the whole day on the island. It's not necessary to get the tickets in advance; you can purchase them directly at the port. On the island, we rented electric bikes (if you're in good shape, regular bikes are fine too) and completed the full route. I recommend arriving very early to have enough time to do the bike tour and also walk to the beaches in the southern part of the island.

Day 4

Famara Beach
@wilbertspace
A popular surf spot with a wide sandy beach and impressive cliffs.

In the morning, we went surfing. If you go to Famara, there are plenty of surf schools, and most of them start their lessons at 10 a.m. The lesson usually lasts 2 hours and is suitable for all skill levels.

I am an architect living in Milan. I was born in the Marche region and have lived in Turin, Japan, and Barcelona. I have been traveling since I was young, and even today, whenever I have the opportunity, I escape for a weekend, or why not, for a few more days. I try to include architectural points of interest in my travels as well. What never misses in my travels are tips from locals, good food, and living life to the fullest. I travel with friends, as a couple, but also by myself!
