You can arrive by car and park in some of the larger parking houses located at Piazzale Roma, like the one below.

You can arrive by train and exit on the train station below, where you can easily fetch a “vaporetto”, the small ferry to transport you throughout canals.

Last but not least, fly in via Venice Marco Polo or Treviso airport. You might visit Venice by boat as well or if you arrive by cruiseship and disembark in Trieste.
