Igreja e Torre dos Clérigos

Pastel de nata — a traditional Portuguese dessert, consisting of a crispy puff pastry shell filled with delicate custard. It’s usually served warm and sprinkled with cinnamon or powdered sugar. 

Take a stroll across the two-level Ponte Luís I, using the lower deck to cross the Douro River to Vila Nova de Gaia.

ℹ️ The bridge was built in 1886, designed by engineer Théophile Seyrig, a disciple of Gustave Eiffel. It consists of two levels: the upper deck is for pedestrians and metro, while the lower deck accommodates pedestrians and vehicles.

Vila Nova de Gaia is home to many of Porto's renowned wineries. While Porto is celebrated as the birthplace of port wine, it’s often underrated in some parts of the world.

Tip: If traditional port wine feels too sweet or strong for you, try a refreshing Port Tonic cocktail.

Don't miss Casa Portuguesa do Pastel de Bacalhau - Gaia, where you can enjoy their signature set of pastel de bacalhau paired with a glass of port wine (the glass is yours to keep!). 

The pastel de bacalhau is a delightful fried codfish and potato cake, special here for its cheesy filling. Be sure to catch the organ performance every 10 to 20 minutes!

Afterward, take the Cable Car to the upper deck of the bridge. Head to the viewing platform at Miradouro da Serra do Pilar for breathtaking views of the city. 

As the sun sets, gather at Jardim do Morro to enjoy street musicians and the picturesque skyline of the old town.
