Tour Bus
Day trip from Tokyo by tour bus is the most frequent and easiest way to visit Mt Fuji.ย If you only have one day and you want to see all the major sights, this is the best way.ย Because public transport in Mt Fuji area is infrequent, the tour bus will efficiently take you around the sights with minimal wait time for transportation.
Fuji Express Train from Shinjuku station directly to Kawaguchiko station (approx 2hrs) is the easiest train ride with no transit (4,130 jpy / one way), although it runs only a few times a day.ย Other trains with transits usually at Otsuki station are available for cheaper.ย
Mt Fuji stands majestic with beautiful views from many angles.ย The popular viewing spots are from the hilltop, by the lake, at the footsteps, mid station, and summit.
Oshino Hakkai (UNESCO World Heritage) are the eight springs found in Oshino, Yamanashi, Japan. The aquifer water from Mount Fuji comes out to the ground to form these springs. They are a Natural monument of Japan, part of the Mount Fuji World Heritage Site.
Midstation of Mt Fuji. Often the starting point for the climb to the peak. The station is reached by the Fuji Subaru Line, a scenic toll road up Mount Fuji's lower northern slopes, that begins in Fujikawaguchiko Town.
Early July to mid September is the official climbing season when the trails and mountain facilities are open. During this period the mountain is usually free of snow, the weather is relatively mild, access by public transportation is easy, and the mountain huts are operating. There are four trails that lead to the summit of Mt Fuji.
Sky Deck is the 55m-tall observation deck right beside the park's scariest roller coaster with the best view of Mt Fuji. Fujiyama Walk is 55m-tall course where you can walk with just a harness midair.
An easy way to see Mt Fuji is from the train between Osaka & Tokyo. For Shinkansen, Seat E (Second class = Ordinary car)/Seat D (First class = Green car) is always the window seat facing Mt Fuji.
Shinkansen doesnโt turn around at the end of the line, it just goes in the reverse direction.
