Great Bend, KS and area

Even though I'm from this area, I hadn't ever done the tour until just recently. Recently. Took our teenage boys down with us. Everyone on the family found it very interesting.

I always find something cute at this shop. One of the favorite things I bought at the shop was a purse that is small and holds my cell phone so that I can still see it and use it. I always find something different every time I come in.

Kansas Earth and Sky Candles is a definite treasure for the area. I am obsessed with these candles. One of the cool things they let you do is pour your own candle. The owner of this place is very friendly and will tell you all about how they came up with their different scents. You don't want to skip this one.

You will get your small town feels at Gather. They are locally owned and run daily specials. Make sure you check their facebook page to see if they're open. They are not typically open on the weekends.

Make a picnic and head to Pawnee Rock, KS. The kids will enjoy it in the afternoon of exploring. Check the temperature before you go as it does get fairly hot in Kansas during the summer. Special note : Make sure you have your family use the restroom before you head towards Pawnee Rock. There are no public restrooms in Pawnee Rock.
