Sunday roasts in London: a local's favourites

There are few traditions more quintessentially British than the classic Sunday roast. This meal is a must if you're in London on a Sunday - whether you're in a cute garden in the summer or bundled up in the winter. And these are my favourites. The list is short because I keep going to them over and over 😊

I LOVE coming here in the winter - especially right before Christmas. The lamb roast is amazing!

I love this pub! Both the garden in the summer and the dining room in the winter are absolute vibes. Make sure to save room for the sticky toffee pudding!

Brilliant neighbourhood pub and restaurant with a terrace. This place epitomises local East London vibes. And my favourite part? 50% off food every Friday from 12;2:30pm for groups up to 6 people :)

Prince George

Something I love about this spot: if you're feeling indecisive / hungry then you can try a bit of everything by ordering a mixed meat roast (beef, chicken, pork belly) or a mixed veggie roast (cauliflower cheese, seed)!

Another great Islington pub with high ceilings and a dark wood interior. The roasts are particularly great value for money!

Great corner spot just down the road from Broadway Market - one of my favourite streets in East London. Particularly like sitting outside with a cold radler or shandy!

The Fox and Pheasant

A brilliant spot in Chelsea with cosy, charming decor and an amazing glass-ceiling terrace where I'd totally recommend enjoying your roast. The exterior is absolutely adorable too. And the homes on the street...omg!

The Mayflower Pub
@awaywithalbs
A hidden gem and my first local pub when I moved here in 2015. The location from where the Mayflower ship set sail in 1620 for the United States! It's in a very quiet neighbourhood far removed from the hustle and bustle / foot traffic that's typical in the center of the city. Recommended if you're looking for a more local feel. The inside decor has so much character and there's a small wooden deck at the back that overlooks the Thames.
