Prashar Lake Trek -

At an altitude of 2730 m, Prashar Lake, or Parashar Lake is a beautiful lake situated near Bagi village in the Mandi district of Himachal Pradesh. It is one of the most stunning lakes in India and among the top places to visit in Kullu. It is believed that the lake was formed as a result of striking rod by Rishi Prashar and water came out and took shape of the lake. An interesting thing about Parashar Lake is its floating circular island that keeps changing its position. Surrounded by snow-capped peaks and looking down on the fast-flowing Beas River, Prashar Lake has a perimeter of about 300 m and is fed by small mountain streams. Also, there is an ancient pagoda style temple stands beside the lake, dedicated to the Rishi Prashar, the patron God of Mandi region. To reach the lake, there is a motorable road till the lake from Mandi. But during winters, the snowfall blocks the road, and the lake can only be reached by a 7 km uphill trek. The trail starts from Bagi village and passes through dense forest. A visit to Parashar is a perfect blend of a spiritual journey and exploring the serene and beautiful Himalayas.  

Valley of Flowers Trek -

Resting at an altitude of 3600 m in the Western Himalayas, Valley of Flowers National Park is one of the most beautiful national parks in India, and among the best places to visit in Uttarakhand. Spread over an area of 87.50 sq. km, the park is known for its meadows of endemic alpine flowers, milky white streams, snow-clad peaks, and a variety of flora. More than 650 species of flowers including Brahma Kamal, Blue Poppy, and Cobra Lily can be found in the park. One can reach Valley of Flowers only on foot from Govind Ghat, which is located on the Rishikesh-Badrinath Highway. Ghangaria, a scenic hamlet situated 13 km from Govind Ghat is the base station and last human habitation center on the way to the Valley of Flowers. It is a 13 km long trek from Govind Ghat to Ghangaria that runs along a well-maintained path, which is the base for visiting the Valley of Flowers and Hemkund. One can also hire pony to reach Ghangaria. But the last 3 km trek from Ghangaria to Valley of Flowers is a steep climb and is allowed only during daytime. Besides, one need to get permit from Forest Department at Ghangaria to visit Valley of Flowers.  

Beas Kund Trek - 

Beas Kund is a holy lake located at the upper valley of Solang in Manali. The Beas Kund trek is one of the most famous and beautiful treks in Kullu Valley. It is one of the best solo treks in India and among the best trekking places to visit in Himachal state. It is an ideal base camp for climbing nearby peaks Shitidhar and Ladakhi Peak. It is a 5-day moderate level trek that starts at Solang, 13 km from Manali and winds through Solang Valley. During this trek, one can experience amazing views of lush green meadows, glaciers, and snow-capped mountain peaks. The trail goes via Dhundi (7 km from Solang) and Bakar Thatch (5 Km from Dhundi) to enter the Beas Kund glacier (3 Km from Bakar Thatch), the birthplace of the river Beas. Dhundi camp gives first glimpse of Mt. Hanuman Tibba and Seven Sisters. The trek is easy and ideal for beginners.

Deoriatal & Chandrashila Trek -

Chokramudi Trek -

Placed at an altitude of around 7,200 feet in Eravikulam National Park, Chokramudi Peak is a mountain peak in Munnar, Kerala. Situated between Bison Valley and Munnar, it is one of the popular places to visit in Munnar, and among the best solo treks in India. Since it is located in Eravikulam National Park, the hill is filled with lush evergreen Shola Forest, and the park is home to large number of animals such as Nilgiri Tahrs, Gaurs and Asian Elephants. The Chokramudi Trek is a short and easy trek that can be done in a day and is an ideal for the amateur trekkers who wish to have an awesome beginning. The trekking trail starts near Lockhart Tea Estate on Munnar – Bison Valley Road which is an hour drive from Munnar and is indicated by a cross. From here, the trek can be of 3 to 5 hours covering a distance of 10 km upwards where one can see wide species of flora and fauna. Once you reach the summit, the peak provides a fabulous view of the surrounding valleys & mountains covered with stunning dense forestation and the lush green tea plantations. Also, you can get a beautiful view of Anamudi Peak, and Idukki Dam located nearby.

Positioned in Ladakh’s Zanskar Valley, the Chadar Trek is a winter expedition when the Zanskar River transforms into an icy sheet. It is among the best adventure treks in India for solo travellers as the trekkers are expected to walk on a frozen river. The trek involves great technical knowledge and strength for the trekker to complete the full route that envelops the Zanskar Valley. The surreal beauty of the icy world, the muted sound of waters, the freezing temperatures, and the thrill to have achieved it all make this 62 km long trail one of the best offbeat treks in India. Though it seems a challenging trek, it isn’t the most difficult as it is a flat walk along the Chadar with minimal amounts of climbing.
