Sumida-ku

I feel like Sumida does not get nearly enough recognition. You've definitely heard of Shibuya, Shinjuku, and Minato, but have you heard of Sumida? This ward is home to the Tokyo Skytree, and will forever be my favourite ward of Tokyo. Here is why, and here is what you can do for free in this beautiful area:

This is without a doubt the best shopping complex I have ever visited in my life! It has a Disney Store, a fancy food market, anime stores, boutiques, snack shops, and a pretty rooftop!

If you're looking to do some perusing, simply explore, or find a way to spend a rainy day, this is such a fun free option! You could easily spend HOURS in this mall hopping from one cute store to another. It is so unlike Western malls, which I really appreciate. It is cozy and welcoming, and offers a taste of Japanese culture! There is even an up-scale food market in the basement level which is definitely worth checking out.

The mall is located at the base of the Tokyo Skytree and spans over several floors!
