Venice City
@sophiemolka
Venice is one of the must visit city’s for me. Of course it is very touristic, but if you don’t come in the high season it is well worth visiting. Good to know: There are busses in Venice (actually boats) to get arround the city or the islands close by. For the ticket I would recommend a day pass or a two to three days bus pass, as a single ticket is 7,50€ and the day pass cost 21€ but for however many trip you like to take. ( including Murano, Burano and Lido) Otherwise you can see the city by walking arround. But be careful getting lost here is pretty easy as a lot of streets look so similar. Also google maps is not working best here so maybe it’s better to do it like back in the good old days and use a actual map. For ice cream I recommend the Gelateria Niko. There ice cream was amazing, even for me who’s not to keen of it! For dinner I would recommend going to the big canal and sit down anywhere. I know these Restaurant are tourist traps but still the food they have is pretty good. Anywhere we went, we have never had a really bad food experience. And now for going there on a longer holiday, you might think about taking a suitcase. But I would not recommend it at all if you don’t want to spend a lot of money on a water taxi. If your hotel or apartment is not close by to the parking lot you would have to cross a lot of bridges and carry your suitcase. So my tip use a backpack or travebag. It will make your life easier.

Lido Venice Beach
@sophiemolka
If you crave the beach and some nice Cocktails, Lido is the place to go. It’s a short ferry ride away from Venice. You only walk along one street and get to the Lidos beach. My personal tip is to go to the Excelsior Hotel. Even tough this is a hotel on the pricier side the cocktails are really nice and the view from the terasse is beautiful. Also the staff there is really nice and you feel very welcome. If you want you can also take a bus a bit more down. There are some nice little city’s for the real Italien flair. Good to know: Buy a day pass bus ticket to get here. So you can use the actual bus on the island and use it for the ferry ride back and forth.
