San Diego Breweries
San Diego & Breweries go together like peaches & cream. You can explore SD without the obligatory stops at some of San Diego’s most iconic brewing companies. Keep in mind, if you ask 10 San Diegan’s to list their top ten breweries, you’ll get 10 different answers.
#10 Harland Brewing
One of the new kids on the block, Harland is making waves in the beer scene with their elevated take on delicious pints. Harland also offers a wide variety of seltzers for those who can’t drink beer.
#9 Ballast Point
#8 Modern Times
Another heavy hitter in SD, Modern Times is worth a visit on any brewery tour.
#7 The Confessional
While this isn’t a San Diego based brewery, it’s worth a stop along your brewery tour as Lost Abbey is know for putting out some of the best beer in the world & it’s in a great location to explore a bit of the north county beaches.
#6 Pizza Port
Delicious beer, great food, walking distance to the beach. What more could you want? Take some time to explore around Ocean Beach (OB) while you’re in the area.
#5 Pure Project
Pure project is a company the strives to have a natural, local ingredient approach to beer. They started in Costa Rica but have since moved operations to San Diego where they opened a swanky establishment that’s putting out some delicious brews.
#4 Fall Brewing
A favorite in the North Park neighborhood, Fall Brewing consistently puts out delicious brews, namely their Pilsner which is a difficult style of beer to find here in San Diego where we’re IPA focused.
#3 Societe Brewing
Societe’s beers continuously take home awards at any competition they enter and their beers, such as Pupil & Coachman are on more tap handles in more establishments than any other beers in San Diego. What they lack in food, they certainly make up for in delicious beers.
#2 Eppig Brewing
The revival of a 150-year old brewing co that once belonged to the founder’s great-grandfather, Eppig Brewing made a massive splash when it jumped on the scene and has since landed itself at the top of the list for one of the top breweries in SD.
#1 Stone Brewing
The end all, be all of San Diego. Stone Brewing is a local legend that’s now spreading out of California to the rest of the US. Their beers are beloved by San Diego locals and the food and atmosphere of their locations is on equal par to their beer. A truly memorable experience when in San Diego.
