Sonoma Wineries | Day Trip
Start the morning off right....
with coffee and a pastry or cookie. I have two recommendations, depending on where you want to begin
Santa Rosa:
or Sebastopol:
then head to the beautifully designed Macrostie Winery for a late morning wine tasting! While there, you'll have excellent views of the vineyard, Russian River Valley, and the Mayacamas mountains.
after the tasting, head to Healdsburg for a walk through the square and for a bite to eat. There are plenty of gift shops, wineries, cafes, and restaurants. I recommend Troubadour for a sandwich in town or Dry Creek General Store for a sandwich closer to the vines.
when you've filled up on some fresh, local foods, you should be ready for your next wine tasting. I take friends and family to one of two places, which happen to be next door to each other: Papapietro Perry or Kokomo Winery, just north of Dry Creek General Store on Dry Creek Road.
Lastly, I recommend taking a scenic drive to Iron Horse for the final tasting of the day. Iron Horse is known for their delicious sparking wines, which has been served at the White House for six consecutive presidential administrations!
I hope you enjoy your trip and give me your feedback afterward!
