Jackson’s Real Food Market & Eatery - Bryanston
@paganreed
Jackson's is a favourite of mine! Not only is it stocked with delicious organic produce and condiments, but it was a beautiful organic restaurant, cafe and smoothie bar with an outdoor terrace. It's the perfect place for a weekend catch up with friends or family.

Odizee
@paganreed
After a lunch break at Tortellino d'Oro, I recommend checking out this quaint boutique next door filled with beautiful local artisan gifts. They often have gorgeous jewellery pieces and scarfs, as well as cosmetics and candles.

Tortellino d'Oro
@paganreed
In my books, ultimately the best restaurant in Johannesburg. Family run, sacred recipes and lovely service, you're in for a treat at Tortellino d'Oro where customers are like family - cherished and remembered.

Jojo Rooftop Lounge
@paganreed
Whilst wandering around Maboneng, it may be difficult to spot this rooftop bar. Don't be fooled, Jojo's is the best place for a Saturday drink overlooking the view of downtown Joburg often accompanied by live music and djs.

Uncle Merv's
@paganreed
Although temperamental opening hours are frequent, the coffee and pastries are perfect for a pick-me-up snack whilst wandering through the graffiti-ed streets and buzzing markets of Maboneng.

The Bioscope Independent Cinema
@paganreed
As a movie buff, finding a good cinema is a must for me. The Bioscope offers a range of films from new releases to sing-alongs. It's an amazing experience that allows the viewers to immerse themselves into the films. My favourite showings were the Rocky Horror Picture dress-up and sing-along, and the Oscar nominated short film screening in 2018.

ABOUT THE AUTHOR
Pagan Reed
Wanna be whisked away by the wizardry of travel? It's possible with my travel guideline: never forget to look up! My name is Pagan. I'm British South African and currently studying in London. At the age of 20, I have lived in 3 different countries and travelled to over 25 countries in 5 continents either alone, with friends and with family. I strongly believe in slow travel as less is always more. Therefore, by going off the beaten track and following local recommendations you will be further immersed into the culture, histories and lifestyle of the place. It can be difficult to collect all this information so I'm here to help. Top 5 things to expect from my itineraries: - Recommendations for restaurants, cafes and food markets. - Walking tours around cities and towns. - Local favourites such as museums, shopping streets, art galleries, parks, viewing platforms and more. - Amazing architectural buildings with added historical significance. - Honest advice on well-known destinations. My custom travel itineraries focus on your interests and niches whilst enabling you to be rooted in the traditions of the place. Although travelling is easily accessible nowadays due to globalisation and interconnectedness, there is always something new to discover in the unexpected. My role is to enable you to experience the unknown with the best suggestions.
