A brief history:
Polignano a Mare, located in Puglia, Italy, has a rich history dating back to ancient times.
Originally settled in prehistoric times, it became a significant Greek and later Roman port known as Neapolis. The Via Traiana, a Roman road, connected it to other major cities, boosting trade.
During the medieval period, Polignano a Mare was fortified to protect against invasions and was influenced by various rulers, including the Byzantines and Normans.
In the Renaissance, it thrived under the Kingdom of Naples.
Today, it’s a popular tourist destination known for its historic center, scenic cliffs, and annual Red Bull Cliff Diving World Series event.

We went to this lovely traditional bar every morning! It’s the perfect place to people watch. Make sure to order the Cafe Speciale — it’s their original coffee creation with lemon and soooo good.
The cornettos, granita, gelato, and juices are also delicious.
