 If you are coming to Kaunas by plane 🛩️ , there are some options for you to travel from the Airport to the city center:

 📌 By bus 🚎. It goes every 20min, and it costs 1 eur. It takes about 40min to reach the city.

📌 By taxi-app Bolt 🚕. Usually there are plenty of Bolt drivers around the airport, the price can variate depending on demand - starting from 10 eur. It takes from 15 to 20 minutes.

It's a somber but important place to learn about the country's past. It can take varying amounts of time depending on how thoroughly you want to explore the site.   📌 Kaunas Castle? Imagine stepping into medieval times! Built way back in the 14th century to keep invaders at bay, this fortress has seen it all. It's got this mix of old-school architecture  with walls, towers, and battlements  - all for defence, of course. 

    📌 Proceed to walk to "Laisvės alėja," or "Freedom Avenue," is a significant street in Kaunas, Lithuania. Stretching 1.7 kilometers, it's known for its history, architecture, and cultural buzz. Dating back to the early 20th century, it symbolizes national identity. The avenue is a mix of architectural styles, housing shops, cafes, and landmarks. It hosts events, parades, and holidays, embodying the city's spirit. Laisvės alėja captures Kaunas' essence and provides a glimpse into Lithuania's past and present.

 📌  The Pažaislis Monastery,  is a captivating example of Baroque architecture. Founded in the 17th century, this architectural marvel stands surrounded by serene nature. Its ornate design, with intricate facades and sweeping courtyards, showcases the Baroque style's opulence. The monastery's church features awe-inspiring frescoes and stuccowork, creating an immersive spiritual experience. With a history spanning centuries and a tranquil setting, the Pažaislis Monastery continues to be a cherished cultural and religious landmark, drawing visitors to admire its beauty and historical significance. 

 Have a glass of wine, or a dinner at this wonderful restaurant Monte Pacis, before watching the sun go down in the Kauno Lagoon.

 Fast forward to now, and while it's not fully intact, you can explore the partially restored bits. There’s a cute little museum inside too, spilling historical secrets.

 Climb the walls, explore the towers - the view from up there is killer. And get this, sometimes they host cool events, from concerts to old-timey reenactments. 

 Best part? It's right by Kaunas Old Town, so it's an easy hop from here to have a true Lithuanian luch! Look for traditional Lithuanian dishes like cepelinai (potato dumplings) or šaltibarščiai (cold beet soup).
