Nuremberg, Munich & Salzburg

Travel:

📅 How Long to Stay?

✈️ Plane

Both destinations are well connected within Europe. Helsinki's Vantaa Airport has more flight options, especially direct from North America and Asia.

🚆 Train

If you want to cut down travel time between Nuremberg and Munich, the DB ICE service takes an hour to travel between cities, half of the bus. However, that does come with a higher ticket price, €35-50 is common for the route.

Between Munich and Salzburg, OBB, the national operator of Austria also runs trains on this route. They compete with DB with both regional and high-speed trains, which take about 1h:30m.

Typically DB will have cheaper tickets, and with over 50+ trains total making the journey each day, you won't have to worry much about scheduling.

🚌 Bus

The cheapest way to travel between Nuremberg and Munich is by the German operator FlixBus. Travel times can be nearly 2 hours but the cost savings can be worth it, as tickets can be had for as low as €10.Between Munich and Salzburg, the story is the same, nearly a 2h:40min bus trip, but tickets are a third of what the trains cost.

There are typically 8-10 bus trips each day on each route, with the majority being in the early morning or late evening.

Note: Direct Nuremberg to Salzburg trips do not exist, as any trip, both train and bus get routed through Munich with a transfer.

🇩🇪 Nuremberg

Senate Square

It offers delicious eating experiences (Vegan friendly) and unique gifts sold by locals!

The market in Finland, while it see's 300,000 visitors annually, it is by far one of the quietest and peaceful markets you'll be able to experience.

Finland typically has a short Christmas season, meaning markets are only open from the first weekend in December until December 22nd.

ABOUT THE AUTHOR
Born from a passion for exploration, out of Toronto. Travel has taken me all over North America and Europe! I've gotten the opportunity to leave Canada, and live in Finland, Germany, and Poland. At the same time, having traveled to 18 countries! From those opportunities, I started crafting and sharing my maps which I feel provide a sense of exploration and recommendations that others can use to create their own memorable experiences. This led me to create Abroad&Co. Each map is handcrafted, both from personal experience and local recommendations. They're a go-to way to learn what each new place you visit has to offer. Whether it's to help plan a dream trip abroad or explore more of what your own backyard has to offer, check out my collection of ready-to-go maps or let me create one for yourself.
