Plan For Me Dani
Available for hire
Philadelphia is my area of expertise! I have lived here my entire life and Fairmount is the neighborhood I currently live in. There is so much to see and do in Philadelphia that as I make guides I'm going to divide them up by neighborhood. Please do not hesitate to reach out to me for a consultation about any area or about itineraries to work throughout the whole city .
This guide will include over 50 places that this neighborhood has to see/do/and eat. I have a special insight living here and having truly tried, seen, and done almost everything there is to do here. I will include personal notes about everything I add to this guide, and will add some great local tips!
I have included sections for
-what to see (museums, parks etc)
-Restaurants
-Casual Dining
-Taverns (we have SO MANY)
-Pizza shops
-Coffee shops
-Additional things to do
I have also included an itinerary for a Friday evening, full Saturday, and Sunday morning.
Fairmount is arguably one of the best places to live in Philadelphia. It is also one of the best areas to visit. It is full of museums, shops, food, activities, etc. If you're in Philadelphia it's likely you'll spend a good bit of your time here.
If you are short on time feel free to reach out so I can help you prioritize what is important to you.

Art Museum
@planformedani
Local Tip: One of the cooler things about the art museum is that on Friday nights starting at 5pm you can "pay what you wish". You can come into the museum, pay what you wish, and they have a delightful little happy hour! You can have drinks like wine, beer, cocktails, sparkling water, and they have live entertainment. It is actually a really nice place to hang out on a Friday to start your evening!
The museum is also pay what you wish on the first Sunday of every month.

Barnes Foundation
@planformedani
The Barnes is another museum right in the same area that is well loved and is right in the center of everything.

Rodin Museum
@planformedani
The Rodin museum is beautiful inside and out. It is right on the parkway so it is also easy to couple with the Art Museum and the Barnes

Eastern State Penitentiary
@planformedani
It's a very intresting experience to tour this place. I have been a few times and once on "Jail Break" weekend. We got to learn about all of the different ways people escaped which was really cool. During the whole month of October they also host a really fun beer garden/haunted house/live entertainment etc. So if you're planning your visit during this time it is a neat attraction.

Philadelphia Zoo
@planformedani
Philly is Americas first zoo! You should check the website before visiting because they are also always having neat events. They have things like "Boo At the Zoo" during October where kids come dressed in costume. They have beer garden nights and an ale festival. During the winter they have "Zoo Lights" where the whole zoo is lit up for the holidays and you come in the evening. These are all really fun experiences worth checking out if you're in town at the right time.

Boathouse Row
@planformedani
The boat houses are beautiful to see and are walkable from the art museum! The whole area behind the art museum is really beautiful. I run here daily. We actually had our rehearsal dinner for our wedding in the last boathouse. Walking along the river is a nice break from center city!

ABOUT THE AUTHOR
Plan For Me Dani
Available for hire
My name is Danielle and I have been planning trips for the past 10 years.
One thing special and unique about my guides is that I am not producing guides that I didn't currently use myself. The places in my guides are places I have been, the itineraries are itineraries that I have personally followed. Everything is real and I have vetted myself.
My travel planning story started with a honeymoon to Italy and since then it has grown each and every year. I love all kinds of travel! It's hard to fine a niche because I fit into so many categories. I love nature, hiking, and being outdoors. I love beaches and sunsets and sipping wine and cocktails in pretty places. I love learning about people and cultures and history. I love street art and busy cities and I also love small towns and quieter places. I will sleep in a hostel and I enjoy a beautiful hotel. I love South and Central America and I am obsessed with Europe. I've been to Asia twice and hope to get back in the next few years. I love to eat and one thing you'll always get from me are true and great reviews of places that I've personally eaten! I have just returned from Albania and I am working on guides from that trip!
My full time job is as a School Leader of Social and Emotional Learning in Philadelphia. All my travel is done on school breaks and in the summer. I have still managed to visit over 36 countries and countless cities along the way. Being a teacher my whole life is about planning and I do believe I am exceptional at it. I work VERY hard to plan incredible trips and now you can hopefully benefit from that as well!
