This is my exact plan for a weekend spent visiting Strasbourg and Colmar! Strasbourg

How to get there:

There are direct flights from most of European cities to Strasbourg. Alternative nearest international airports are Frankfurt and Basel but consider an additional train journey to reach Strasbourg.

What we did was taking the outgoing flight to Strasbourg and return flight from Basel which is a 30 min train ride from Colmar. You can do the same or you can book the return from Strasbourg so it’s up to you if you want to sleep 2 nights in Strasbourg and do Colmar as a day trip or sleep one night in Strasbourg, second night in Colmar and then take the return flight from Basel as we did.

From Strasbourg airport to city centre:

From the airport you can take the train that takes to the station in the city centre! The easiest option is to take the Shuttle Train, departing five times per hour from the airport and transporting you to central Strasbourg in only nine minutes on average. Simply follow the signs from the arrivals terminal and take the covered pedestrian footbridge to the station.
