Gili Trawangan: Island Paradise 

Central East: Where the boats land, this is the busiest area of Gili T. Lots of restaurants, cafes, shops and bars. 

North East: This area has many beaches to swim and snorkel. No need to rent a boat to see turtles- you can rent gear on the beach, walk in from the shore and see them up close! Further North you can get the infamous Mushroom Shakes and relax by the small bars on the beach or bonfires at night.

West: "sunset side"- All the best places to see sunset with the views of Bali. It still has a string of beautiful restaurants, beaches, and beach clubs.

South East: A bit more quiet, it includes the less busy Gili Beach and places to swim out of the crowds

North: More quiet and more of the resorts and luxury villas are here. Still great for swimming and snorkeling.

If you have time- spend a day or two island hopping to the two other more quiet islands of Gili Air and Gili Meno! A much more chill environment and a nice break from the party scene. You can inquire about public boats at the harbour, and many kiosks on the island offer island hopping boat tours for snorkeling. Public boats usually go twice a day at around 35k IDR each way.

Gili and surrounding area has some of the best diving in the world! There are SO many dive places to choose from- so select one within your budget and timeframe and experience beautiful coral, sea turtles, and even a nearby shipwreak and statue nest!

Although Gili T is walkable, the BEST way to experience the island is to rent a bike. You can find tons of rental stands across the island, and some accommodation even includes a bike rental. It's very affordable for the day and makes things a lot easier. Be sure to grab a lock from your rental shop, and be careful in the potholes and puddles!
