Magnificent Museums in Naples and Foodie Tour (Part 1)

Magnificent Museums in Naples and Foodie Tour (Part 1)

There is a saying ‘See Naples, the die’. The German poet Goethe said this phrase when he visited the city and fell in love with its sun, its art, its people, and its vibe. I totally agree with Johan Wolfgang van Goethe. Naples is a city that I fall in love with over and repeatedly. And not just for its food. For its ART. 🖼️🎨 Yes, ART! I created this guide for those of you who want to discover the treasures in the museums scattered throughout the town. Museums and treasures tucked away in churches, museums, and monumental complexes. So let’s get started! 📒 The guide has my top picks of museums that are located in or near the city’s historic center. And of course, I also included some places to eat, because-well-we’re in Napoli! 😜

Museums

Naples is home to many many many museums.  Some known internationally, others are hidden 'gems' located off the beaten track.  For this guide, I decided to choose those located in the heart of the 'centro storico' as well as a few scattered close to the bay.

A few words of advice:

📌 Do not try to visit more  than two in one day.  You will end up rushing and therefore not enjoying or appreciating your visits.

📌 If you are in the area for a few days, check out offers such as the Naples or Campania Artecard which can give you discounts or even free admission to all the museums listed on my list.

📌 Each of these museums are easily reachable by using the city's two metro lines. 🚆M1 (Museo, Duomo or Università stops)🚆M2 (Piazza Cavour)

ABOUT THE AUTHOR
Ok, so you want to visit Campania, Italy but are curious what is out here besides the big stops like the Amalfi Coast and Sorrento? Ciao, My name is Karen Phillips and I've been blogging/vlogging about the Campania region for nearly 15 years, with a focus on food and wine. I live near Naples, so you can be sure that my recommendations are based on first hand experiences. In other words, I like to walk the walk before I talk the talk. So if you are looking for tips on where to eat, wineries to visit, museums or other cultural spots throughout the region, you have come to the right place. I am so excited to share my info about this region with you. Whether it be Naples for street food and art/museums- or maybe you'd like to visit some of the best wineries in Italy- or your curious about the islands of Ischia, Capri or Procida. What about pizza? Let me work up something that will make your visit to this region that I have called home for 30 years something really special. Ciao!
