1. Ascoli Piceno

Head to Ascoli Piceno, home of the famous fried olives and Piazza del Popolo, a beautiful, travertine-paved Renaissance square in the center, and the 13th-century Palazzo dei Capitani del Popolo. Have an aperitivo or gelato in Caffe Meletti.

TIP: Park at the affordable and accessible car park, Torricella, just a few minutes walk from the centre of Ascoli.

2. Fermo

One of our principle capital cities, Fermo has views of the sea, a beautiful, large piazza for lunch or dinner, and an antiques/bric-a-brac market on Thursday evenings during July and August.

Medieval winding streets, historical churches and palaces and a view of the Umbrian plains.

4. Perugia

The capital of Umbria, and a well-known cultural and artistic centre of Italy.

There's so much to do and see in Perugia. Head there in July to the famous Umbrian Jazz Festival, people-watch in the numerous piazzas, or visit historical churches. If art is your thing, head to the Galleria Nazionale dell’Umbria.

5. Porto San Giorgio

Head east to the coast to experience the warm waters of the Adriatic and a classic Italian seaside experience.

6. Lago di Fiastra

Escape the heat of summer with a dip in the cool, bright blue lake up in the Sibilline National Park. Hire a pedalo or canoe, take a picnic, or eat at one of the small osterias.

7. Assisi

8. Conero National Park

Enjoy this 500m high "rock" by the Adriatic Sea. If walking and nature is your thing, then this is for you. Discover some of the local towns, such as Sirolo, Numana and Portonovo Bay.
