Your ultimate Bali guide

I’ve put this guide together so you can make the most out of your trip to Bali! I’ve included my top 3 places and given you plenty of recommendations, so have a read of it and I hope it helps 🫶🏼

❌Don’t look the monkeys in the eye, they see this as a threat and can get a little mad!

We hired a driver for the day, and he took us to each waterfall! You won’t need to do this if you’re driving yourself, but it worked out cheaper than booking a tour ☺️He knew the best spots for a bite to eat, with stunning views and the most yummy food, all washed down with a bottle of Bintang; the local beer which is top tier 👌🏼 (hey that rhymed!)

This was up there with one of the best days out in Ubud, it was so much fun!! You get to drive the ATVs through the jungle, rice fields and caves. They give you some welly boots to wear because it gets very muddy! There are showers to use and towels are provided. I booked this excursion through the Get Your Guide app. Pick ups and drop offs, as well as lunch were all included 👏It cost just over £20 for all of this! You just had to pay more for any additional drinks 🍸

The lunch time spot afterwards was 10/10 with the most unbelievable views! We didn’t actually realise we’d booked THIS place, we assumed ‘lunch included’ meant a little cafe, not a whole beach club!

✅Take lots of cool pics, but give the monkeys space. 

✅DO be careful with your phone; monkeys are clever and if they snatch it, that’s it GONE. However, some will try and bribe you, so find someone who works there and they will attempt to exchange food for the phone back 🤷🏽‍♀️

Worth a visit purely for the rice fields! 🌾

This place is party central🤣 Attracts more of the Gen z crowd, but I still had a ball! It’s also great for the foodies😍 Get yourself to the picture perfect cafes, watch the sunset on the beach or go feral and dance the night away at the famous Finn’s beach club💃🏽🪩

Sand bar (the craziest bar on the beach, dance in the sea and go nuts, everyone ends up there at the end of the night😅) 

Little Havana (tattoo for £10 with a cocktail on Wednesdays) 

The Lawn (bit more expensive for drinks but so fun and they play lots of Abba wooo)

Finns beach club- free entry and sitting areas with no minimum spend, or you can hire day beds if you want to spend more, food and drinks packages available there!

Amazing vibes and definitely worth the hype 🙌

Prettiest beach ever, really loved it here☺️ 

A bit more built up and current, on the pricier side but still super reasonable! Has a Hard Rock Cafe so take ma money hunnyyyy🤤

La Brisa (beach club, can go day or night the place is STUNNING) 

Most unreal sunsets, it’s all so stunning! Plenty of bars to choose from, and get table service from your deck chair on the sand with the tastiest food🥳

This place is out of this world, it’s literally what I think of when I picture Bali. It’s a luxury, restaurant and day club, with infinity pools directly above one another on each floor! Just £2 to enter but not so cheap once you’re inside👇🏼  

Ubud has a lot of beautiful waterfalls, I’ve made a little list of some of my favourites: 

You need a visa to enter the country, we did VOA (Visa On Arrival) you just scan a QR code and then wait to go through, it was about £30. You can do this online beforehand to avoid queues, but it’s a little more expensive so it’s your preference. 

Download 2 apps called Gojek & Grab, they’re Indonesia/ SE Asia’s version of Uber, but a LOT cheaper 🤑 Use mopeds when you don’t have backpacks or suitcases, you’ll get around so much cheaper than being in a car! You can link the app to your bank, so be sure to book a cab before leaving the airport when you arrive, as some people will try and rip you off 🙅🏽‍♀️ You can also order food using both of these apps.

Most places have wifi but I downloaded an App called Airalo which is an ESIM that allows you to purchase data packages for all different countries at various costs, so you can stay connected even when you don’t have wifi. 

Bring more sun cream than you think you’ll need because some contain whitening or bleach.Sanitary products are pretty hard to find out there so pack extra, they’re also expensive AF. 

You can drink the ice, but if you’re apprehensive about getting a dodgy belly go to the local pharmacies and ask for the black charcoal tablets- you’ll thank me later, trust me. 

Wear a helmet on the bikes, we saw a few accidents and they weren’t pretty.

Bali is a spiritual and religious place, you will see offerings all over the street. Be respectful and don’t stand on them or run them over with your bikes. 

Lastly, mosquito spray will be your best friend! 

One of my favourite places, not just in Bali but that I’ve ever visited😍 Nestled in the heart of Bali, Ubud is a sanctuary where culture, nature, and spirituality come together. 🌿✨ Surrounded by emerald rice terraces and ancient temples, there’s still a really current feel to the place! It’s also super busy with traffic ALL OF THE TIME, so make sure to hire a bike or order one as a taxi (if you’re in a car, you will be stuck my love😅)

❌ Don’t bring food or plastic bottles, they will probably fight you for them. 

✅Pack some spare clothes just incase you’re a silly gal like me who sits in monkey 💩
