The DutchWayfinder
I fell in love with Paphos when I visited. If you have a car with you then I highly recommend this 1 day itinerary that will make you explore nature and visit archeological sites.

Before you go

This is a 1 day itinerary for which you will need a car. All locations on this itinerary can be seen in just the one day without rushing if you leave Paphos around 9 AM. It is also possible to split the day in two and make it two half day itineraries.

Make sure you take the following with you:

- Plenty of water for the hike

- Sturdy shoes

- Flip flops

- Swim wear

- Towel

- Change of clothes (or just dry socks if you don't go swimming)

- An offline downloaded map of the Avakas Gorge

- A hat and sunglasses to protect from the sun

- Suncream

Start your day at the Avakas Gorge

Avakas Gorge Nature Trail
@dutchwayfinder
The gorge itself is the most beautiful part but even beyond the gorge you find beautiful nature. Be aware that the gorge is slippy, you need at least a moderate fitness level. To get here by car, look on maps for the Avakas gorge car park. Drive slowly as it is a lot of off roading to get here.

Cool off at Toxeftra Beach

Toxéftra Beach
@dutchwayfinder
Gorgeous wild beach that is super quiet. When I went I was the only one. Waves get quite wild.

Fuel up at Viklari

Viklari
@dutchwayfinder
This restaurant lies on top of a hill and gives great views of the beach you just went to! Frequented by many locals, make sure to be patient on weekends of book a table in advance. They often present a set menu of BBQ meat with large fries and a salad.

Marvel at the old graves

Archaeological Site of the Tombs of the Kings
@dutchwayfinder
This archeological site is a must see for your trip. The excavations are impressive and the sea gives it all a wonderful background.

Stroll next to stunning mosaics

Archaeological Site of Nea Paphos
@dutchwayfinder
The highlight are the well preserved mosaics that you can find inside buildings and outside. Visit the place just before closing but give yourself at least an hour as the exhibits have quite the walk between them.
