Iguazú Falls - Visit One of the New Seven Natural Wonders
In this complementary guide you will be based in Puerto Iguazú, the Argentine side of the falls but I will also cover the Brazilian side to give you an overview on both.
OVERVIEW
📍Location
The Iguazú Falls are located in Argentina (province of Misiones) and Brazil (state of Paraná), forming a natural border with 80 % of the falls being located on the Argentine side and 20 % on the Brazilian side.
📏Size
The Iguazú Falls are huge. In fact, they are the widest waterfalls in the world, spanning 2.7 km and are made up of 275 individual waterfalls. In the indigenous Guarani language "Iguazú" means big water.
The most famous part of the falls is the "Devil's Throat", "Garganta del Diablo", which measures a width of 150 meters and its powerful U-shaped cascade plunges about 82 meters into the gorge.
