Camping:

We're campers so we believe the best way to experience Yosemite is by camping at one of the thirteen campgrounds throughout the park. We narrowed down the list to our personal favorites and ones that we'd highly recommend. Check out the notes for additional details on each campground! All campsites are booked through recreation.gov.

We also love HipCamp which is a platform similar to Airbnb but for unique camping stays! We added two HipCamps that we've stayed at that are about 45 mins to an hour outside of the park just in case you struggle to reserve a campsite.

Campgrounds:

Upper Pines Campground
@happytrailz
This is one of the most popular campgrounds due to its location in the heart of the valley near the famous El Capitan and Half Dome. The spots are not spacious so expect to be close to your neighbor but the location is worth it in our opinion. It's important to stay updated on when campgrounds open for booking and to be online early to snag a spot!

Lower Pines Campground
@happytrailz
This is our favorite campground! It is very popular so booking early is needed but we love it due to its relaxed vibe and it being close to the banks of the Merced River. The campground only has 60 sites and its nestled near many great trails.

North Pines Campground

Another great campsite in a great location! We haven't been to this campground but we've heard it has all necessary amenities.
