Paris: Best Street Food & Cheap Eats

Paris: Best Street Food & Cheap Eats

A curated list of all my actual favorites - NOT every single street food place in Paris and certainly not every single one I've ever tried. By 'street food' I mean generally cheap (<13 EUR, with a few exceptions) grab-and-go options, where there is little-to-no sitting area; oftentimes it's just a walkup window. Eating in public - like while you walk - is actually not very common in Paris. If you get street food, I recommend finding a nearby park or garden to sit in and enjoy it while you peoplewatch. Guide includes: 7 Sandwich & Burger places 2 French places 5 Kebab, Wrap, Falafel places 2 Place I want to try You also get: ✍️ My personal notes for each recommendation 📍 An interactive map of all recommendations 🔓 Access to all future updates (I'm always trying new places) All but two suggestions on this guide are on the Right Bank.

Sandwiches

Le Favori
@hilaryinparis
Only open weekdays from 11:30-15:00, they have a few staple sandwiches and a changing salad and sandwich du jour. Vegetarian options, too. Nothing more than about 11 EUR. ALWAYS a line during peak lunch times, but it goes pretty quick!

Will's Deli

The best NY/American style deli sandwich place in Paris - worth the hype. Nov. 2023 update! They just launched a second location in the 11th - woohoo!

Chez Alain Miam Miam
@hilaryinparis
Known for epically sized (especially for France) and equally epically delicious sandwiches, this place got SO popular that it had to vacate its stall in the nearby Marche des Enfants Rouges (where the line would take over the covered market) and move into a proper shop across the street. Go before you get hungry, and maybe don't plan on eating for the rest of the day...

Michel Kalifa - David House
@hilaryinparis
This place is a gem because it's not even super clear from the outside that they sell sandwiches, but they do, and they are SO good. A little bit expensive, but truly delicious pastrami and other deli meats.

Homer Lobster - Marais

On the pricier side but WORTH IT. Tuna melt and the classic lobster/crawfish sandwiches are both insane. 5 locations around Paris.

LA RÉCLAME
@hilaryinparis
Feels a bit more like a cute Italian epicerie/deli than a sandwich shop, but their fresh focaccia "florins" are incredible. Warm bread with amazing deli cuts will delight you. You can choose 2 for 9 EUR (great deal!). they're not as big as, say, a burger, but they're bigger than a slider. Tips: - You can always add on a salad or dessert to your menu if you think you won't be full. - They typically sell out of the daily special so go early to snag that (when I went, it was roasted pork with smoked stracciatella and it was incredible). - If you choose your meat, they will suggest what cheese to pair best with it. - Expect a line, so go a little early (like before 12:30pm) to minimize wait time.
