Did you know that Portugal contains 14 different wine regions? Yes - and the "Dão" region is one of them!
Known as the Portuguese Burgundy due to its micro terroirs, the region of Dão was established in 1908, in central Portugal, in the province of Beira Alta. It was the first demarcated region for non-liqueur wines and the second demarcated wine region overall in the country.
The Dão region has around 20,000 hectares of vineyards in approximately 376,000 hectares of land, extending across several districts such as:
