Brunch and Lunch
So first of all you dinner plans seem excellent! a Personal favourite is La Parada, so I'm sure you would love that!A few spots that I love for brunch and/or lunch are:
Hacienda el Santuario: you might have already seen it in the Day of the Dead guide, though it's worth a mention by itself as it's the best place in town in my opinion for a good Brunch, plus this Sunday they will have a few Day of the Dead special items.
Inside Café- they have great choices for food, delicious coffee and a beautiful space.
Jacques- a delicious spot for brunch too with plenty of savoury and sweet options! The shakshouka eggs are delicious!
Annapola: a restaurant run by locals with delicious breakfast, brunch and lunch options as well as a local tap beer from the nearby city of Querétaro. They’ll be having a bazaar on Friday 1st from 11-6pm with great stands.
Coffees
Coffee places that are worth it!
Lavanda Café: For great Mexican specialty coffee, right next to the arts and crafts market, you'll love this place!
La Cabra Iluminada: This one is a very different one, as it's a vegan coffee, but they do have great ones!
Drinks and Bars
Cantina El Cucu: For a very traditional Cantina Style, this is a wonderful one that we love. Great for mezcal, tequila and beer and having a look at old photographs of San Miguel de Allende on the walls.
A very unique place in a very quaint street with natural wine and good wine and Mezcal tastings.
Shopping
There are some great places around the city centre. Some of my favourite are:Velia Sierra: a Mexican linen brand that has gorgeous designs and there's a few shops around town.
Trinitate: One of my favoruite places for wonderful ceramics in the city.
Notus: Inside Doce18, there's a high end glasses shop which is absolutely beautiful.
Madre Tierra: A beautiful shop run by locals that have different kind of soaps, arts an crafts and plenty of little things worth looking at. Love stopping by here.
Mixta: a store where you'll find plenty of textiles, clothes, arts and crafts and beautiful decoration. Worth a stop as they usually also have Day of the Dead themed decorations.
Live Music
Café Rama always has a great lineup, though it can be frequented by quite a few foreigners. It still a very great ambience.
Marimba en Vivo— classical south east Mexico music will be played live in Hacienda El Santuario today 1st and to tomorrow 2nd of November from 7-9pm in their restaurant. Worth going for it as the altar is also wonderful! Highly recommend getting there early or even making a reservation to their WhatsApp for a table.
Click here for taking you directly to their WhatsApp.
La Mirilla festival will also be having live music and plenty of stands for regional shopping plus workshops. A space worth attending!
They are located very close to the Live Acqua Hotel in a place called Foro Obraje.
Have a beautiful time!
