The perfect 4 day itinerary in Verona & Lake Garda, Italy

Start your day at Verona airport, where you'll pick up your hire car and make the hour and a half road-trip to Lake Garda where you'll be heading for Malcesine.

Today you can explore the local Malcesine area in the morning and leave the car at the hotel, with wonderful views of the lake as well as Monte Baldo behind you, there is much to explore.

If you stayed at the top of the lake, you'll want to be up early to head to Lake Garda's centre - Sirmione. A small fortress at the bottom of the lake with a mini village inside. 

Start your road-trip by stopping in Lazise. There are various little towns along the lake that have cute cafes, shops and view points. You can stop in as many of these as you like! Parking can be a bit of a pain but as you're hopping in and out, short stay parking shouldn't be much of a problem.

Once you've had enough of village hopping make your way to your base for the two nights - Malcesine. Half way up the lake it's the perfect point to base yourself.

In the afternoon you can then head to the top of the lake, where there are five little villages that are full of history and charm.

You can only use the car if you're staying at one of the hotels or visiting the spa, so walking is the best option. Parking can be a little bit of a problem, so another reason to head out early. The main road to the island also get closed, but the walk down is really nice.

With so many independent shops to see and visit, take your time and head down every avenue until you're tired. I promise it's worth the explore! 

You can then have the option of staying overnight here if you don't fancy staying in the same hotel twice. Also it may be more convenient if you are staying late here.

You'll then want to pop in the car into the city centre ready to explore Verona tomorrow. 

The city of lovers, Verona! Depending on the time you have on your last day, there's a wonderful city to go and explore, all within walking distance. Pick and choose the places that suit you and enjoy the Italian scenery.
