12 Day Romantic Italian Getaway: Venice-Florence/Tuscany-Positano/Amalfi Coast
Critical Planning Tip
It is imperative you book all hotels, meals, tours, and any tickets well ahead of time. All reservations were made 2-3 months in advance of our trip. I cannot stress this enough, especially if going at a peak season (June - August). Failure to do so will likely result in long lines, wasted days, and limited places to eat dinner.
Day 1 - Arrive in Venice
I recommend taking a Red Eye flight whenever possible for a trip to Europe. We flew out of JFK in NYC and landed the following morning in Venice. When done correctly, you can sleep on the flight and start your first day in the morning with minimal adjustment needed for the timezone differences.
Once you arrive in Marco Polo Airport in Venice you will walk down to the water to get to your hotel.
Travel to the Hotel
There are two ways to get to your hotel. This first is what we did and what I recommend to kick off a romantic trip to Venice.
