Globe, Arizona Guide
Welcome fellow travelers, it's Russ from RVerTV coming to you from Globe, Arizona! Today, we're heading downtown to check out the old haunted courthouse, which has been transformed into a world-class art studio. But before that, I'm going to meet my new friend named Nick, who owns a little woodworking place in town.
Local Weather:
Nick showed me around his store, where they repurpose old buildings and fallen trees into beautiful artwork. They sell other people's art and even have candy in the back. The wood they use is sourced locally, which is amazing! Nick even showed me walking sticks made from saguaro spines.
I parked in a free public parking area and headed towards Nick's store, Knotty Fox Gift Shop. This town is so cool, I could live here!
After checking out his store, Nick took me to the second floor of the building, which is now the Valley Center for the Arts. The building dates back to 1906 and was featured on the show Ghost Adventures. Apparently, the show had luck finding some ghosts inside the building.
The art center was breathtaking, and the building itself was a work of art. They had a collection of artwork from Rose Mofford, the first female governor of Arizona, who got her start here. The building also had a third floor, which was the players' club, where they do plays and other performances.
Nick also showed me the old courthouse building, which was built in 1900. It had a collection of beautiful artwork for sale, and if you watched Ghost Adventures, they take you upstairs, where they had a lot of ghostly activity. The building was amazing, and I could feel the history emanating from it.
I walked around the old town historic district, and it was like stepping back in time. The old brick buildings were amazing, and I could feel the history of the town. Apparently, they even turned the whole town into a movie set of Reno, Nevada, for the film "The Great White Hope."
If you're ever in Globe, make sure to stop by Nick's store, The Knotty Fox Wood Shop, and check out the Valley Center for the Arts. The journey never stops, and I can't wait to explore more of this amazing town.
