Paso Robles
Paso Robles
Katherine Chen
Home to over 300 wineries, Paso easily holds its own against Napa or Sonoma, minus the fuss (and expense) of its neighbors to the north. There are now a handful of breweries, distilleries, and cidermakers to discover, too! Before you go, be sure to check with each winery for COVID-19 protocols and reservations, if needed. There are a few tasting rooms in the downtown area, but most of the wineries are spread out in the Paso’s rolling hills. You will probably want to nominate a designated driver or, better yet, hire a driver for the day.

Tablas Creek Vineyard
@katherine
Established in 1989 in partnership with a family of French winemakers, Tablas helped place Rhône varietals on California’s map. Tablas also has a particularly wide selection of white wines. Look out for livestock— Tablas relies on sheep and alpacas for fertilizing and weed control, making it a biodynamic vineyard.
