The Ultimate Hawaii Trip for Great Food, Great Adventure, and Great Relaxation!
Brief Overview:
I went on this trip with my boyfriend, my dad, and my step-mom, so we focused on adult family-friendly activities, which I think was perfect for Hawaii. If you have younger children or are on a couples trip, you might want to substitute some of the activities, but even still I think this itinerary works for many travel groups. I flew out of Cincinnati, OH to Maui, HI on Saturday morning and arrived on Saturday afternoon so my itinerary will start on Saturday. Each day is curated to what is open and available on that day so if you don't start your trip on Saturday follow the day of the week when you start your trip! Also, in the restaurant descriptions of the places I visited, I have listed a dollar sign amount from $-$$$$ so you can gauge how expensive each location might be. Lastly, you could follow this guide to the tee and have a great experience or swap things out for what fits your schedule, but remember I have scheduled things each day based on when they are open so be sure to double-check opening times!
Tips and Tricks:
1. Hawaii is very expensive in general from the accommodations to the food. Make sure to plan for expenses before the trip as the food can really rack up a high bill.
2. Trying the local fruits and veggies in markets is a good way to keep cost down and eat amazing local food!
3. Hawaii is an early-rising island community. There are not many restaurants or bars that are open late and many of the activities start early in the morning so we did not experience too bad of jet-lag as we continued waking up early and going to bed early.
