The Lawns at the Roundhouse
@1traveler2another
Supposedly one of the best restaurants for sunset. Near Camps Bay, the Lawns boast beautiful sea views and the iconic 12 Apostles Mountain Range. You 100% have to book in advance & specify where you want to sit. Many Cape Tonians have celebratory drinks & dinner here for the iconic views.
They have various seating options.
In order of my favourite (for the views)
1. Lawn 1
2. Sunset Deck
3. Oak Terrace
4. Deck 1 & 2
5. Lawn 2
6. Lawn 3

Rick's Cafe Americain
@1traveler2another
Rick's is by far one of my favourite places to grab a drink on Kloof Street with a view of Table Mountain. The first floor seating is more of a laid back dinner and cafe vibe. With a stunning balcony looking at the mountain and hustling Kloof. The roof is the main event. With unobstructed views of iconic Table Mountain and great food and drinks... and the spiciest jalapeno poppers! They are always super busy so make a booking beforehand and either choose the laid back 1st floor lounge or balcony or the beautiful rooftop seating.

Café Caprice
@1traveler2another
Cafe Caprice is one of the most well known bars in Cape Town. Situated on the iconic Camps Bay Strip overlooking Camps Bay beach. With palm trees blowing in the wind, and luxury sports cars sitting in traffic in front of you. Book in advance if you want a guaranteed spot on the Promenade (and even then its not guaranteed). Always busy so its a vibe. Known for Caprice Sundays, because who doesn't love a jol on a Sunday watching the sunset on yet another weekend in Cape Town.

Tiger's Milk Camps Bay
@1traveler2another
Aaah good old Tigers Milk. All of them are the same. Average food, bad service and decent beers. One thing they've got right? Location. Find one on every busy corner in Cape Town. Including the strip. I have to recommend this one- because you can head to the second floor and have a gorgeous view of camps bay, above the road instead of on it. It is affordable, compared to other places on the strip. Great for sunset views. But book ahead.

Gigi Rooftop Restaurant & Bar at the Gorgeous George Hotel
@1traveler2another
The trendiest decor that makes all of my interior design dreams come true. A little rooftop garden with tons of seating and of course, the iconic rooftop pool. Gigi's makes gorgeous cocktails and is a must see bar. Especially if you have a cute Girls Night Outfit that you are dying to take some cute instagram pictures in.

The Wolf House
@1traveler2another
A random little burger spot on Kloof with the best views of Table Mountain. Good value for money, food isn't 5 stars but its pretty good. The winner is the views though. Head to the rooftop for some drinks & sundowners.

Grand Africa Café & Beach
@1traveler2another
Grand Africa is similar to Cabo, however it was here way before Cabo. Also over looking the sea, so great sundowner views. With beach sand sections & normal floors. They have iconic views & statues perfect for THAT Vacation Instagram Photo.

Cabo Beach Club
@1traveler2another
Cabo! I have attended many a music festival at Cabo and it is incredible. Most of the outside area is Beach Sand. Plan your outfits accordingly.
Alot more on the expensive side of things, but you should treat yourself, especially for the views! Music festival prices range between R800-R2000 (for general, VIP is a whole other ball game.) And too be honest with you, the R2000 tickets are more worth it. The venue is small and it is way nicer if it is not filled to the brim with people.
You can also visit the restaurant on non-event days (which do not exist in December).
Grab a pizza and a couch for stunning views and hopefully even dolphins in the harbour.
Dolphins from the club? Yes! I have seen them with my own eyes.

Sotano

Great spot on the Sea Point promenade (closer to Mouille Point) as it is by the lighthouse. This spot has some great beers- Superbok. And you have to try the Lam Burgers! To Die for!!

Rockpool Cape Town
@1traveler2another
One of the few spots along the Sea Point promenade. Always filled with locals, is it the Rockpool or Local Watering Hole? Or both?
Pretty good pizzas, cold beer and great views.

Bossa Woodbridge Island Eatery
@1traveler2another
Aaah BOSSA, a Cape Town favourite. This stunning restaurant situated on a little island (yes you have to cross a bridge to get to it), boasts beautiful views for sundowners. The food is so good and great value for money, like seriously cheap for the quality.
Highly reccomend!

Fat Cactus Eden
@1traveler2another
I love Fat Cactus! Litebergs = beer & margaritas. And no its not a Corona-rita its way better. Plus their mexican food is phenomenal. The best part about Fat Cactus Eden is that if you manage to secure a spot outside, you have stunning views of the sea, table mountain and of course the iconic Blouberg sunset.
They take bookings (for inside only) outside is first come first serve.

Blue Peter
@1traveler2another
Every Cape Tonian has watched the sunset at Blue Peter at least once. With tons of seating, yet always so busy that people even sit on the large grass lawns just to drink a famous Blue Peter Cocktail with the famous View.
Apparently (don't quote me) but some people have said it has gone down in quality in recent years. I went before COVID-19 so I cannot comment on the quality now. So keep that in mind.
But with a cold beer with a stunning view- who can complain?

Doodles
@1traveler2another
Great views & place to catch sundowners. Also a great place to have a few drinks with mates or even spend the night dancing to iconic throwbacks. The crowd was a bit older here (30+) but it was so much fun.
Safety Tip! Just don't stand outside with your phone out when waiting for an uber. Wait by the bar.

Pakalolo Tableview
@1traveler2another
Don't judge a book by its cover. It doesn't look like much, but with bar seating over looking the atlantic ocean and table mountain plus cold beer? This place is pretty cool. PS- look out for the seal sitting at the bar.
