Day 1: Arriving in Sonoma

Day 1 begins with your arrival in the vibrant city of San Francisco. Take some time to explore the city or hit the road straight north to Sonoma Valley. Head to Healdsburg and check into the charming Hotel Healdsburg. Healdsburg is an adorable small town on the north side of Sonoma valley. I would recommend your first tasting at MacRostie Winery. Their modern-designed tasting area is perfectly nestled into the hillside.  Head back to downtown Healdsburg and consider stopping by Lioco, a tasting room brimming with local wines, to enhance your evening before making your way to Chalkboard for dinner where all the food is prepped with locally sourced ingredients.

Note: I also love staying at H2Hotel in Healdsburg.

MacRostie Winery Estate House

A beautiful, modern winery tucked right into the landscape of the hills. You are greeted with a glass of rose to start your tasting and it only gets better from there! Highly recommend.

Hotel Healdsburg

This is the best place to stay in Healdsburg in my opinion. The staff is incredibly kind and they just finished a renovation to over half the building. The rooms are just what you need for a few days in Sonoma with little touches like robes and slippers and room snacks.

A classy, modern dinner spot in Healdsburg with locally sourced food. Highly recommend the Porcini gigli.

LIOCO Wine Tasting Room

Not all tastings are at vineyards in wine country! This is a favorite tasting room of mine in Healdsburg. Pop in for a pre-dinner tasting in town.
