We recommend having either the SBB Half Fare Card or the Swiss Travel Pass.
We also recommend getting the Zermatt Peak Pass.
In case Zermatt is part of a wider Switzerland trip, for example taking the Glacier Express, we recommend the Swiss Travel Pass instead of the Half fare card. It will act as a half fare card to give you discounts in Zermatt, but will include all trains you will take

Morning
When arriving in Zermatt, you can either take the train directly or park your car in Täsch (Zermatt is a totally car-free village!) and then take the train to Zermatt.
