Each year clay season is opening with Rolex Monaco Masters tournament for tennis world. Clay courts located between the mountains and the mediterranean sea 🖤
Have been there twice 22&23 and looking forward to go again. The calendar is approximately same each year in the middle of April. The best season for Monaco, not so cold not so hot. Best for sitting at the tribune from 11.00 to 24.00🤩 still, you will get sun burnt..
These smaller tournaments are not like grand slams however it is much more sincere and cosy as the tribunes are smaller, you are much close to the court by paying lesss compared to the grand slams. Not all big players coming here but last year Djokovic, Tsistipas, Rune, Rublev and many more were there. Still you are watching very good matches. As there are less people, I was able to get the signature of the champ on my cap, as well🌸
Tickets
Last year I bought the tickets the very last minute. I bought from official resale tab from thw offficial website. If you cannot find tickets when you check. Never give up. It is like stock exchange market. You should try every day. And you can find tockets, last year I found for both semi finals and finals.
If you go to the tournament one time, next year you have chance to get your tickets on October, they are opening the system to the loyals 1 week before the public announcement.
This year I bought 8 tickets for me and my friends in October. There is no number limit for the presale so you can do organization with your big group of friends😌😌
Tournament schedule
Last year I went semi-finals and finals. When you buy day ticket you can watch both single and double matches that day.
Matches start at 11.00. I didn’t even know that my ticket is also valid for the doubles match so the first day I went late. I am not a planned person, I bought these tickets last minute a bit spontaneously, so the first day was a bit experimental😌
Doubles match starts at 11.00, there is no so big crowd so if you go half an hour before, it will be okey to find your seat get your tournament hat/cap and beer 🍻. However, I suggest you to go a bit earlier to catch the atmosphere, have a first gaze ti the merchandise shop, you will definitely go there two three times more during two days. And, especially look around for some celebrities (do not forget, you are in Monte Carlo:) Last year Leclerc, this year Russel and Zendaya was more popular than the players😎
**you can also check the mechandises from the official website before going
Logistics
Do not carry anything with you, there are many things inside and they balanced the number of bars with the crowd well. So the max I waited in the queu was 15 min and it was the prine time between two matches.
🍻☕️🍪🍤for snacks and beer&coffee&water there are small bars nearby eaxh tribune so you will not waste so much time ($$)
You can get hard plastic beer cups as a memory (all my small tennis accessories are kept in those on my table🤩)
🫖🌮🍕🍔🌭for sandwiches etc there is a bigger bar nearby the merchandise shop ($$)
🥗🍤🍹🍸🥂there is one terrace restaurant and a vlosed small bar at top to drink fancy drinks ($$$$) - no need for this one normally but last year one day the game cancelled because of the rain for 1 hour and it got too cold, I just had a prosecco at the top bar and charge my phone (kind of pit stop:)
🚌🚘🚞 I stayed in Nice and come to Monte Carlo each day both last year and this year. It is really close and views are amazing. You can go by bus or train. Train is much practical as the tournament has a free shuttle from the station ( I didn’t know it, I just found it out on the last day while turning back:)
You should check the train and bus hours for turning back to Nice if you are staying there. because sometimes matches can be very long. And you will not leave it in the middle as this is kind of a lifetime experience. So, be aware of the last trains. Last year a match finished around midnight and I used the shuttle for going to the station (you need to know where the bus leaving from the court because it is a big area) and I catched the 12.40 train back to Nice.
🛌 My suggestion is staying in Nice, may be it is a personal thing. I love nice so much and it is so nearby and cheaper:) If you miss the last train somehow, you can wait in the casino till morning and gain (or lose) some money💰
As you are in Monaco, just a few tips other than the Casino, Aquarium, etc
