That’s why I hope to inspire people to want to come visite this small country , which has many things to offer❣️ Most people who asked me where I come from and I say Luxembourg , don’t know where it is . They will then try to guess , but they often think its a city in France or Germany🥲 So here is my guide to make you fall in love with Luxembourg💕 ℹ️All about Luxembourg 📸Places to visit 💃Nightlife 👩‍🍳Good restaurants ❣️I will also tell you about my own experience and opinion If you want more information ,you can always write me on: 📱IG: sylviie_oliveira 📧e-mail: sylvie_oliveira@outlook.fr

All about Luxembourg

🗺️Location

🌸Europe

🌸It is located between Belgium to the west and north, Germany to the east and France to the south.

🌸It only takes 1h30 by car to go from the very bottom of south Luxembourg to the north.

➡️Let’s say from Dudelange to Troisvierges

☀️Weather

🌸Springs are comfortable and pleasants

☀️Summers are mild-warm (25-30 degrés)

🍂Falls are quite rainy and cloudy

❄️Winters are very cold, windy, and mostly cloudy. It can snow.

☔️Rainfall is quite frequent and constant throughout the year.

💶 Currency

🌸Euro - €

🌸1 $ is 0,92€ ( always changing)

Population

🌸Luxembourg has a population of 645.000 people.

🌸 In fact, almost 50% of the population doesn't have Luxembourgish nationality

🌸We have 197.000 cross-border commuters who work in Luxembourg .They come everyday from France,German and Belgium to work here.

❓Did you know that almost half of the population (47,1%) is made of foreigners.

➡️ 170 nationalities have been currently recorded across the country.

🤯 5 largest foreign communities in Luxembourg, as a percentage of the total population:

🗣️Language

🌸We have our own language, which is called luxembourgish.

➡️It's a language with similarities to Dutch, French and German.

🌸Even though we have our own language ,we also recognize German and French as administrative/ national languages.

🌸We are a multilingual country,

📝Fun fact: it’s so normal for us that people here speak 4-5 languages, that we don’t realize how lucky we are to know all those languages.

Some useful words to say:

1. Hello

➡️Moien

2. Goodbye

➡️Äddi

3. How are you?

➡️Wéi geet et?

4.I'm fine/not fine

➡️Mir geet et gutt/schlecht

5. Where is ...?

➡️Wou ass...?

6. Thank you

➡️Merci

7. Yes

➡️Jo

8. No

➡️Nee

😱Don’t worry you don’t need to learn any of those words, because like I mentioned before we speak several languages , including english🤩

💰To tip in Luxembourg:

🌸It’s always welcome , like any other european country

🚨Emergency Numbers:

🌸Police :113

🌸Ambulance /Fire : 112

⬇️It’s a site to know which hospital is on call

Safety

🌸Violent crime isn’t common in Luxembourg cities, but incidents of burglaries are on the increase.

🌸Pickpockets operate on buses and in train stations, particularly in Luxembourg city ( Gare -main train station).

🛑So keep in mind to always be careful, even though you will feel safe here. I don’t recommend to walk alone in Luxembourg Gare at night .

Public transport

⭐️Here comes the best part ,since 2020 :

All public transport in Luxembourg are free : Bus-Train-Tram

You can travel all around Luxembourg for free🎉

🚨You will only need to buy a ticket if:

➡️ you travel in first class on national trains

➡️if you are planning to cross the border to Germany, France or Belgium.

🚌Bus schedule:

🌸On weekdays :

🌸The City Night Bus: You will have them on friday and saturday evening until 3.30am so you can enjoy the night.

⬇️You can check which bus you have to take to go to your destination and timetable, there’s even an app 💪🏻

🚈Tram

🌸You can only see the tram in Luxembourg city it goes from Bonnevoie to Kirchberg

🌸A new route that will, by the end of 2024, run from Luxembourg Airport to the Cloche d'Or business district, in Gasperich is still beeing made

🌸It’s free for everyone

⬇️You can check here the timetables

🚞Train

🌸Go everywhere by train in Luxembourg

🌸You can take the train to go to our neighborhood countries , even go to Paris , it will take 2h30 to get there by TGV.

⬇️This site is where you can get train tickets or you can buy at the main station in Luxembourg city.

🚕Taxis

🌸Always check the fare per km before getting in as some taxis can charge highly inflated prices.

🌸Taxi drivers can charge 25% extra on Sundays

❌I wouldn’t take one if I were you, taxis are so expensive here. I think I took two times one here in Luxembourg and I paid like 20€ for a 5-7min ride.

💡and remember public transport is for free
