Solo travel can be intimidating, especially for those who are accustomed to traveling with companions. It's natural to have fears and concerns about safety, loneliness, or navigating unfamiliar environments.
In 2011, I embarked on my very first solo trip to Bali, and it turned out to be a life-changing experience. Since then, I've discovered a new rhythm to my life, traveling solo and dividing my time around the world and my hometown Stockholm in Sweden.
Traveling solo is an incredibly rewarding and empowering experience. However, navigating a new city or country can be overwhelming at first. I will provide practical tips on transportation options, getting around the city/country efficiently, recommended neighborhoods to stay in, the best times to visit popular attractions, language essentials, safety considerations, how to avoid scams, dos and don'ts, what to wear, must-do activities, and many more.
Apart from offering practical guidance, my purpose is to share my own solo travel experience and acknowledge any concerns or fears you may have about embarking on a solo trip. I want to provide reassurance, offer safety tips, and highlight the fact that with proper planning and preparation, solo traveling can be a safe and unforgettable adventure.
