Meet Jonas Hanspach

Jonas is a landscape and travel photographer originally from Hamburg, Germany who moved to Ireland in 2017.

Since then, he’s spent countless hours exploring every inch of Ireland and has become an expert in the process. There’s hardly any place Jonas hasn’t seen or explored in his 6+ years on the island.

I moved out to this part of the country from Dublin about 3 years ago and have not looked back since. The landscape here is one of a kind with endless opportunities to explore nature, beaches, mountains, cliffs, and as the Irish would say, a few buzzing towns that are "good craic!"

Top Recommendation:

Few places left me as speechless as Kinbane Head in Northern Ireland.

I randomly came across this narrow piece of land on the north coast in Northern Ireland on my first road trip through Ireland.

It was a super stormy and rainy day so much so that our intended destination, the Carrick-a-rede rope bridge, was closed and so we kept on driving when we saw a brown road sign pointing towards Kinbane Head. With nothing else up our sleeves, we decided to check it out.

Kinbane is a tiny peninsula with an old castle ruin on it and the views from the tip were exhilarating, especially with the waves crashing against the cliffs. This is where I fell in love with the landscape of Ireland.

I may be an extreme example of this, but I spend hours researching my destination, from locations to routes to cool places to stay.

Very little is left to chance when I go on a trip and so far I've done quite well with that. I use a lot of different sources to find my information: Thatch, Instagram, LocationScout, and Google Maps!
