Hey Tasha! I’d love to kick us off by asking what inspired you to start sharing your travels on both Instagram and Thatch? What's been your favorite part of the journey so far?

I have been travelling since 2006 and have a head full of memories, gems and information. From an 18 year old single girl to now 36 married with two children, I have travelled in many stages of life.
I am ex superyacht crew so I have travelled to some unique places in the Mediterranean and I want to share them with everyone! I love to write, take photographs and just be creative really so Thatch has been a great place for me to live this out.
My favourite part is heading down memory lane every time I write a French Riviera guide, putting together my favourite places, activities and restaurants for others to discover and enjoy.

As a born and bred Londoner, what are three tips you'd give someone traveling to London for the first time? Do you have a favorite locals-only spot you love to tell others about?

London is diverse and has many different neighbourhoods for different vibes. So I would recommend doing your homework so you can make the most out of your trip and stay in the right neighbourhood for you. To be close to all the iconic landmarks - stay around Westminster or Covent Garden. For street art, music and markets - Stay in Shoreditch/Hackney. For more tranquil, village vibes with easy access to the city - stay in Greenwich or Hampstead.

As someone who spent over 8 years living on the French Riviera and exploring the Mediterranean, what are some hidden gems that most travelers might overlook in the PACA region or the Med?

My favourite thing to do in the PACA (Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur) region is visiting the hilltop villages dotted along the coast. It’s fun to be on the coast but by heading inland a little the landscape totally changes and the medieval villages appear.
The most famous hilltop village is Eze which is beautiful and a must see - but you also have art filled St. Paul - de - Vence, glass blowing in Biot and gourmet dining in Haute Mougins.
If you are in Provence you have the charming village of Gassin surrounded by vineyards producing the finest Provençal rosé! This is my favourite weekend trip to do and I have a great guide all about it.

With plans to dive deeper into family-friendly content in 2025, what tips would you offer for parents who want to enjoy traveling with their kids?

My husband and I haven’t really changed the way we travel now we have kids. We have never been ‘resort’ people and we didn’t start going to them just because ‘all inclusive is good for kids’. The way you decide travel with them from when they are young becomes the norm for them.
We love to be outside, visit local towns/beaches/hidden gems and we love a castle! We try to get the kids to use their imagination and castles are the perfect place for that!
Try local foods, we love mezze/tapas style food so the kids can try lots of new things.
Just because you have kids doesn’t mean you have to stop travelling the way you want to. Teach them what excites you and they will be excited too.

Do you have any exciting travel plans coming up? What's on your current travel bucket list?

We are planning a trip to New Zealand in the next year or two. My husband is a kiwi so we will be going to visit his family but we will also be exploring as a family too. We are so excited to take them to NZ as its an amazing place to take kids, be in nature and try some exciting activities!

What can people expect to find in your Thatch Travel Shop? How do your guides stand out from others available on Thatch?

At the moment my Thatch travel shops is full of gems from my time on the French Riviera. I lived there for 8 years and my husband and I travelled around on any time off we had. I love to share my knowledge of the area with fun things to do as there is so much more than just Nice, Monaco and Cannes (although they are fabulous!)
In 2025 I will be starting to focus more on family travel around the UK, especially London. As a Londoner with kids I can appreciate how difficult it would be to travel to a city with children if you are visiting for the first time. My aim is to take the stress out and recommend the best neighbourhoods, hotels and activities for your needs.

Thanks for chatting with us, Tasha!
